CLEOPATRA EYES: The Cleopatra eye makeup look is a bold take on the usual eyeliner and shadow combination, a chance to use vibrant or sultry colors and accentuate the entire upper eyelid and brow area. The Cleopatra eye look is one of the latest eye makeup trends used by celebrity makeup artists and other beauty professionals, and can be used to create an ultra-glamorous look.

Here's how to create an enchanting Cleopatra eye look.

Instructions

Things You'll Need

  • Flat, wide-angled makeup brush
  • Light-colored shimmering eye color (base)
  • Shimmering eye color (first layer)
  • Darker shimmering eye color (second layer)
  • White or cream-colored eye liner
  • Liquid black eyeliner
  • Mascara
    • 1
Prepare the lower eyelids. Use a light-colored, shimmering base eye shadow to prepare the lids for the full makeup application. Apply this shadow with a small brush or your fingertips.
    • 2
Create the first layer. Use a bright and shimmery eye color to define the upper eyelid and brow area; apply the color using a flat-tipped angle brush all the way up to the eyebrows.
    • 3
Accentuate the eyelids. Use a dark crayon to outline the eyelid crease. This will only show when you close your eyes, but helps create a frame for the next layer.
    • 4
Intensify the first layer with a darker shade. Apply a darker shade of eye shadow to the entire eyelid; blend carefully with the flat brush and leave to settle for 30 to 60 seconds.
    • 5
Brighten up the lower lash line. Use a white or cream-colored eyeliner to accentuate the lower lids. This will brighten up the eyes and intensify the look of the upper lids.
    • 6
Create the classic Cleopatra eye with liner. Apply black liquid eyeliner to the upper and lower lids, but make sure to extend the line at least 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch outward on each side to create a "wing." Allow to dry before moving on to the next step, approximately 30 to 60 seconds.
    • 7
Finish the look with mascara. Apply 2 to 3 coats of black mascara to accentuate the eyelashes and complete your look.
